Embraer S.A. is a Brazilian aerospace conglomerate that produces commercial, military, executive and agricultural aircraft and provides aeronautical services. It is headquartered in S?o Jos? dos Campos, S?o Paulo.
The company is the third largest producer of civil aircraft, after Boeing and Airbus.
Seeking to develop a domestic aircraft industry, the Brazilian government made several investments in this area during the 1940s and 1950s. However, it was not until 1969 that Empresa Brasileira de Aeron?utica (Embraer) was created as a government-owned corporation. Its first president, Ozires Silva, was a government appointee, and the company initially produced a turboprop passenger aircraft, the Embraer EMB 110 Bandeirante.
The Boeing 737 is a short- to medium-range twinjet narrow-body airliner developed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes in the United States. Originally developed as a shorter, lower-cost twin-engine airliner derived from the 707 and 727, the 737 has developed into a family of thirteen passenger models with capacities from 85 to 215 passengers. The 737 is Boeing’s only narrow-body airliner in production, with the 737 Next Generation (-700, -800, and -900ER) and the re-engined and updated 737 MAX variants currently being built.
